GANDHINAGAR BYPASS

The motive of this project was to better understand the relationship that a human shares with a road. It tries to discover the different phases in the process of one getting to know the dynamics of a path. The underlying attempt was to understand the experience of the point at which a person subconsciously stops thinking about a road with a viewpoint of something which only connects certain places. The sense of belonging comes into the picture and then the stretch of the road becomes a place of his/her own giving it new functions and purposes.

For this project, I’ve chosen a roughly two-kilometer stretch of the Gandhinagar Bypass Road, starting from GH-0 Circle near the National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar to the Sargasan Circle intersection.
